It is imperative to have those with lived experience leading the fight to end homelessness and poverty. Thank you to our sponsors and others who made it possible for individuals with first-hand understanding of homelessness to attend the Forum.

Be sure to visit the National Building Museum to see Evicted, an immersive experience inspired by Matthew Desmond's Pulitzer Prize-Winning non-fiction novel, Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City

Have you endorsed the Housing Not Handcuffs campaign yet? Join over 600 advocacy organizations, public officials, criminal justice professionals, and grassroots activists in the push for affordable housing as a solution to homelessness, not criminalization.

National Forum on the Human Right to Housing:
Using the Power of the Law to End Homelessness

Thank you to everyone who attended the 2018 National Forum on the Human Right to Housing in Washington, D.C.! Over 150 leaders and advocates from across the country attended strategy sessions focused on one goal: ending homelessness in America. And thanks to the financial support from sponsors and registration sales, we awarded over 20 travel scholarships to assist formerly and currently homeless people and grassroots advocates in attending!

Photos and video from the Forum are available on the Law Center’s Facebook page, and please continue the conversation on Twitter using hashtag #Right2HousingForum. Expect further communications from the National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty in the coming weeks as our team collects notes and coordinates on the next steps. And if you haven’t joined our mailing list or endorsed the Housing Not Handcuffs Campaign, please do so!

Special thanks again to our host, Sidley Austin LLP; our sponsors Microsoft Corporation, Perkins Coie LLP, Fish & Richardson PC, and United Airlines; the National Forum Planning Committee; and all our speakers and session facilitators this year. View the Forum program here
